TOCFL Band A Exam Tips

1. Study vocabulary in context
Study TOCFL Vocabulary with sentence examples plus listen to audio. It’s best to listen to an audio from a NATIVE SPEAKER, not an AI voice.

2. Don't focus too much on grammar
It might be shocking, but if you sit down and study grammar points one by one, it’s actually not that helpful to boosting your TOCFL score. Only when you encounter grammar in a sentence that you don’t understand should you study individual grammatical structures.

3. Know the exam format and structure very well!
Take mock tests, know what you’re dealing with and know your level.

“I find the TOCFL course to be the most excellent resource I have found so far, because it exposes the learning to repeated vocabulary throughout the course. This is exactly what I was looking for when starting to learn Chinese one year ago. Now I have built a strong ability to read/speak basic vocabulary.”
