Welcome to the Jungle.

This series is eminently skippable.

Jungle’s plot is oversimplistic, but the characterisation and artistry are strong, and the spirit of bold experimentation is admirable.

It lifts strobe-light aesthetics and camera techniques from Belly, Harmony Korine movies and, according to its creators, Looper. However, these stylistic choices aren’t enough to save some pretty uninspired writing.

Chas Appeti and Junior Okoli have certainly set a strong visual and musical style with Jungle.

The buzzing vibe of the show is only enhanced by its gorgeous neon futuristic take on London...it also acts as the perfect foil to a show blurring the lines of realism in its design and attitude.

Not a bad series, solid 5/10.. the rapping to tell the story was overused and it felt like a musical at times. If they lost that, I would've rated it higher. They could also work on making the timeline changes a little more clear. You could generally follow them, but they weren't done particularly well. The show has potential though, so they might get it right if they do a second season.

Welcome to the Jungle

Gogo wants to change his life for the better, but his last daring robbery leads to a chain of unforeseen consequences.

Gogo suspects he's being double-crossed and steps up his plans to leave the country for good; 6ix seeks revenge for the death of his brother.

Gogo finally faces his fears and confronts Slim, but Jessica encounters a threat that brings dreadful consequences.

Marcus wants to start a new life and be a better example for his brother, but his past catches up with him when he falls for the beautiful and talented Bianca.

Now that she knows the truth about Marcus, Bianca wants revenge; suspicious of his commitment to the gang, Stacks hatches a plan to get rid of Marcus.

Now out of the gang, Marcus wants to break Stacks' influence over Danial, building to an emotional confrontation with devastating consequences; Danial is introduced to an unlikely figure.
