Julia Michaels is an award-winning singer songwriter based on Sydney’s North Shore. With over 20 years’ experience in the music industry Julia has worked with some of Australia’s elite musicians and performers. 

Beginning her musical journey studying classical piano, Julia holds a degree in Music and a Post-Grad inEducation specialising in Contemporary Voice and Composition.  

With a rich performance background Julia has worked alongside artists such as Paramore, Delta Goodrem, Prinnie Stevens, Barry Crocker and Darlene Zschech and as well as featuring as a guest vocalist with Soul Deep, Busy Hands, One Foot in the Groove, Cardboard Animals and Dr Bob and the Amazing Disciples of Groove.

As a songwriter, Julia has enjoyed much success with both her debut E.P “Natural Progression” and her follow up E.P “A Beautiful Descent” both receiving international recognition and awards including 2014 Adult/Contemporary Song of the Year (US Song Contest), 2015 Folk/Acoustic Song of the Year and Runner Up for 2015 Australian Songwriter of the Year (ASA) 

Having briefly studied at NIDA Julia’s interest turned to the theatre where she has been involved in performing, music directing and composing for a variety of music and drama stage productions.

Now with over 25 years of experience Julia enjoys working closely with number of Sydney’s tertiary education institutions as well as training up and coming musicians, vocalist, songwriters and performers with Hummingbird Music & Vocal Studio
