PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie Blu-ray
Posted October 30, 2023 06:36 PM by
Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that it will release on Blu-ray PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on December 12.
Synopsis: When a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City, it gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! But they face their mightiest challenge yet when the pups' archrival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with Victoria Vance, a mad scientist, to steal the superpowers for themselves. With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the supervillains before it's too late.
"An action-packed adventure for the entire family" (FOX-TV) hailed as "heartwarming and fun" (Crosswalk), PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie follows the fan-favorite pups as they take on new adventures with all-new superpowers and prove that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference!
Fans who purchase the film on Digital*, Blu-ray or DVD will be on a roll with fun-filled bonus content, including a look at the team's amazing superpowers, all-new super-suits, and upgraded vehicles with none other than Skye herself. Plus, go inside the voiceover booth to hear from the actors who voice your favorite characters! Bonus content is detailed below:
PAW-Somely Mighty Pups Get ready to fly high with Skye (McKenna Grace) as she breaks down the amazing superpowers that the crystals bestow on the pups. Plus, see the team's all-new super-suits and their mighty upgraded vehicles.
A Totally PAW-Some Cast Meet the pup-tastic cast and see the incredible young talent behind the voices of Chase, Skye, Liberty, and the Jr. Patrol pups. Additionally, meet the actors who brought reporter Sam Stringer and the villainous Victoria Vance to life.

I'm one of those people that think DVDs should be discontinued, everything should be blu-ray or 4K disc. Paramount is so random on what they decide to put on these formats. The missed the new Monster High movie.

@Krawk - You're not alone. I second the agreement for the discontinuance of DVDs. (I only find them useful when I want to make a copy for someone.) Material that is produced in HD has no reason to be released on DVDs anymore. DVDs should only be used for old TV shows and other things where the source material is SD - and even then, that material could be presented in SD on Blu-ray, so it would take up less discs.
Paramount/Nickelodeon is a big culprit in this "DVD only" BS, especially for titles that they consider "for kids". All three seasons of the recent Are You Afraid of the Dark revival, which was produced in HD (of course), was only released on DVD here in the States. The SpongeBob Musical only got a *retail* DVD release, with the Blu-ray being relegated to MOD online (where it could be easily missed). There are way too many other examples, sadly.
I really don't get what their logic is. My gut tells me that they think kids, whom they feel is the target audience of these things, don't care about HD and would be happy with DVDs. The problem is that kids (and their parents) AREN'T BUYING PHYSICAL DISCS ANYMORE! They will stream all of this stuff through Paramount+ and the such, in HD no less! The people still buying physical discs are us old fogeys, and I don't think there is a single one of us who would prefer HD content on DVD instead of Blu-ray.
My other pet peeve is Paramount's, Warner's, Arrow's practice of only including one disc format in the case. Everything that is being released on 4K should include a Blu-ray disc, too. For new movies, there should *ONLY* be a 4K+Blu-ray release. There is no need for individual 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD releases. That is just a waste of plastic (for the extras cases and DVD discs) and paper for the extra artwork; plus extra clutter on dwindling store shelves that the mainstream customers won't buy anyway. I would imagine that the studios would cut costs tremendously if they would just product *one* single release with both HD & UHD formats in it. Maybe a special Steelbook for the Best Buy crowd, and that's it.

Some are mentioning DVDs in this thread. Am I missing something? It looks like it is being released as a Blu-ray disc and HD digital code.
