Dạng bài Process trong Writing Task 1 là một trong những dạng bài khá phổ biến và được đánh giá là khó nếu như thí sinh không có đủ vốn kiến thức rộng để viết. Bài viết dưới đây sẽ giúp bạn đánh bay stress với Từ Vựng dạng Process IELTS, cung cấp thêm nguồn từ vựng để bạn thỏa sức chinh phục dạng bài này.

Thông thường, dạng bài Process thường yêu cầu các thí sinh mô tả một quy trình hay quá trình theo biểu đồ, hình vẽ minh họa. Có 2 dạng chủ yếu:

• Natural Process – quá trình xảy ra bên ngoài đời sống tự nhiên, ví dụ: vòng tuần hoàn của nước, vòng đời của cá, …
• Manufacturing Process – quá trình sản xuất nhân tạo, ví dụ: quy trình sản xuất gạo, quy trình làm sô-cô-la, quy trình đúc khuôn, …

2. Overview

– The process begins with + N/ N phrase and ends with + N/ N phrase.

– It is clear that there are + (3, 5, 10, etc) + stages in the production of + Noun, starting with + and ending with + N/N phrase.

– It is clear that there are + (3, 5, 10, etc) + stages in the complete cycle of + Noun, beginning with + N/N phrase and ending with + N/N phrase.

– The ……. involves …… main steps/ stages beginning with ……. and finishing with ……….

– This flow chart provides an overview of ……

– In general, the process includes a series of stages like a natural circle/ a life cycle of …….. (một vòng đời của con vật nào đó), but involves ………. main steps which begins with ………… and finishes with …………

Examples:

– There are five main steps in the process of producing milk, meanwhile only three stages are required to store it after that.

– It is clear that there are five stages in the production of cement, beginning with the input of raw materials and ending with bags of the finished product. To produce concrete, four different materials are mixed together.

Từ vựng dạng NATURAL PROCESS

• Experience/ Undergo significant changes: trải qua những thay đổi đáng kể.
• Evaporation: sự bay hơi

Example: At the first step of the process, as a result of the sun’s heat, water evaporates into the air.

• Lay a couple of/ a massive number of eggs: đẻ một vài/ một số lượng lớn trứng.
• To be … cm in length/ to be … cm long: dài … cm
• To be termed …/ to be commonly called: được gọi chung là …
• Grow to adult size/ grow to maturity/ turn into an adult: tăng trưởng thành kích thước trưởng thành/ tới giai đoạn trưởng thành

Example: The nymph grows in size and sheds its skin three times.

• Feeding grounds: khu vực kiếm ăn
• Grow quickly in size/ double in size: phát triển nhanh chóng về kích thước/ kích thước gấp đôi

Từ vựng dạng MANUFACTURING PROCESS

• To transform sth into sth: biến đổi

Example: Nitrogen is transformed into nitrates in the soils which plants can use.

• To release sth into sth: làm thoát ra chất gì

Example: Coal power stations release sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. 

• To circulate (sth through sth): lưu thông khí khắp nơi vào…

Example: Cooled air is circulated throughout the building.

• Furnace: lò luyện kim

Example: When this cleaning process finishes, the bottles are transported to a glass factory where they are cut into pieces which are then poured into a furnace.

• To obtain sth by doing sth: thu được cái gì nhờ vào

Example: Sugar is obtained by crushing and processing sugar cane.

• Pile up: chất đống

Example: Work always piles up at the end of the year.

• Fermentation: sự lên men

Example: Sugar is converted into alcohol by a process of fermentation.

• Pour (v): đổ

Example: Although I poured it carefully, I still managed to spill some.

• Convert (v): chuyển hóa

Example: Hot water is converted to electricity by a turbine.

• To be dug out of the ground: được đào lên khỏi mặt đất
• To be placed onto a metal grid: được đặt lên 1 vỉ kim loại
• To be put through a roller: được đưa qua băng chuyền
• To break up sth into sth: đập thành mảnh vụn

Example: This clay is placed into a metal grid which is used to break up the clay into smaller pieces.

• To Be mixed with: được trộn với
• To filter sth: lọc

Example: Use a sunblock that filters UVA effectively.

• To be either put in a mould or cut by a wire cutter: hoặc được đưa vào 1 cái khuôn hoặc được cắt bởi 1 cái máy cắt gạch
• To be laid in a drying oven: được đặt vào 1 cái lò nung
• To store sth in sth: cất, dự trữ

Example: Coffee beans can be stored in the freezer to keep them fresh.

• To be then heated in a kiln: được đun nóng trong 1 cái buồng

Example: The bricks are heated in two kilns whose temperatures range between 200 and 1300 degrees Celsius.
