While there seem to be plenty of nice Jaguars and Audis sitting on dealer lots this year, luxury car is bucking the trend. To be sure, the Lamborghini Revuelto supercar is one of the most anticipated cars of 2024. But, at $600,000 each, it’s hard to imagine that Lamborghini would sell that many of them. But, imagine it, indeed, because according to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, they’re sold out.

Winklemann told CNBC that not only is the company sold out of the new supercar, but that it has orders in hand for the first two years of production. “We don’t see any slowdown in order intake for buying cars like ours,” he told CNBC. Of course the Revuelto is a new, special, and different take on a Lamborghini, but it still has styling that would tip over a school bus if one drove by.

It’s not a surprise, though, because Lamboghini is selling truckloads of cars.

What is so special about the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto?

With the Revuelto, Lamborghini dives into the hybrid world. But this ain’t no Prius. Instead, it pairs Lambo’s famous V12 with three powerful electric motors driving all four wheels, which is the kind of hybrid power we love to see.

The Revuleto is notable because, unlike Ferrari or McLAren, who are switching from V12s and V8s to smaller and smaller engines with fewer and fewer cylinders, Lambo is staying distinctly old-school. Since the first Lamborghini Miura came out in 1967, V12 engines have been a hallmark of the brand. While those first engines made 430 horsepower, the new car with electric motors makes 1,000 (and one) horsepower. And, of course, it has a gorgeous V12 sitting behind the driver, where god intended.

That means that this supercar will sound like a proper supercar, which will be a glorious sound all the way to its top speed of 217 mph. But, in all likelihood, the Revuelto will be the last new Lambo to carry a big, gas-guzzling, loud, shaky, glorious V12. Long live the V12.

How much is the new Lamborghini Revuelto?

Lamborghini has not released the Revuelto’s price, yet. That’s led to a lot of speculation. CNBC reports it starts at $600,00, however Car and Driver quotes $890,000. Regardless, if you’re buying a Lambo like this you’re not going to quibble over a few (hundred) thousand dollars. This car, because it’s the last V12, will be a staple of collector’s collections for decades to come, especially because its the first Lambo EV.

We expect any Revuleto to be one of the rare cars that will see its value increase over time. Forget crypto, put your money into a 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto.

The 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto replaces the Aventador

Like the Revuelto, the 2022 Lamborghini Aventador will likely become a collectible car. It’s the last V12.  For the 2022 model year, Lambo built just 600 Aventadors with a special Ultimae package that adds lightness to the supercar.

While the Aventador looks like a space-age wedge, in the hypercar world it was starting to get a bit old-fashioned. Blame that V12, and its lack of an electric option. In many cities where these cars are sold in Europe, think Barcelona and Monaco, gas-powered cars are restricted from driving in the city center, which is exactly where you want to show off your $500,000 supercar. So, the new Revuelto has 6.2 miles of silent non-polluting all-electric socially-conscious power available, which may not be much but it’s enough to get you to the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and back.
