Kim Kardashian reveals she asked an SNL producer for Pete Davidson’s number

KIM KARDASHIAN has revealed she made the first move with Pete Davidson after she felt a “vibe” with him on Saturday Night Live.

While Hollywood’s most unlikely pairing have been dating for more than six months now, they’ve kept relatively quiet about their relationship — until recently. On May 2, the pair attended the  Met Gala together and in April, Davidson supported the SKIMS founder at the  premiere of The Kardashians Hulu show. 

And during the most recent episode of her reality show, Kim offered a little more insight into the couple’s early beginnings.

After sister Khloé jokingly queried Kim about her dating life simply asking: “Stand-up comedy?” — a reference to Davidson’s comedian career — the 41-year-old opened up about wanting to date someone “different.”

“OK, you guys have stalked me long enough. I’ll finally answer you. So, this is how it went down with Pete. I did SNL, and then when we kissed in scene, it was just a vibe. And I was like ‘Oh shit, maybe I just need to try something different,'” Kim began.

Kim explained that after Davidson didn’t rock up to her SNL after party — following her inaugural hosting gig on October 9 — she decided to take action.

“Everyone was at my after party. [Pete] does not give me the time of day. So, a few days later, I called the producer at SNL, and I was like ‘Hey, do you have Pete’s number?’ and they were like, ‘Yeah!'”

While she admitted she wasn’t going into it expecting to be “in a relationship with him,” — she was ready to get back out in the dating world.

“I was just thinking like, ‘Heard about this BDE. Need to get out there.’ I was just basically DTF.”

Despite the mother-of-four being the first to text, she disclosed that Davidson had actually been trying to pursue her for months. Kim recalled that the 28-year-old even went so far as to ask friend, Megan Fox, for her number — who declined to give to him.

“After we got together and it was like a thing, Megan Fox texts me and was like, ‘Is this shit for real? Because he asked me for your number months ago, and I was like, ‘Dude, you have a better shot of me and MGK getting eaten by crocodiles than you ever getting her number. Like never going to happen, do not ask us,'” Kim said.

But as fate would have it, Kim did chase Davidson — and the entrepreneur couldn’t be happier that she did. During the episode, she called the comedian “literally the best human being I’ve ever met.”

“I mean I think that just I never knew that you could be so happy watching TV series and going to the gym,” Kim said of life today.

“Like I actually don’t care if I go out like this and have no makeup on. It’s the most refreshing feeling to not feel like, ‘Oh my god.'”

During the premiere episode of The Kardashians, Kim opened up about how Davidson offered some words of encouragement at the 2021 Met Gala.

“I ran into Pete Davidson at the Met and I was like, ‘I am so scared. I don’t know what I signed up for,'” Kardashian said of her SNL hosting gig.

“And he’s like, ‘Can you read cue cards? You’re good. You’re good.’”

Aside from emceeing the popular comedy show, Kardashian also participated in an Aladdin-themed sketch alongside Davidson. Dressed up like the Disney characters, Aladdin and Jasmin, the pair had their first kiss whilst on a ‘magic carpet.’

Kardashian recently admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Davidson ended up gifting her their set props for Valentine’s Day.

“Actually, for Valentine’s Day, he got me the rug and the whole outfits and the little genie lamp. So I do own the rug.”

The reality star and comedian made their first red carpet appearance together on April 7 — for the Los Angeles premiere of The Kardashians. While they attended the event together, Kardashian reportedly opted to pose for official photos solo.

However, on April 11 she uploaded an adorable picture of her to Instagram, cozying up to the 28-year-old at a pizza restaurant post premiere. She simply captioned it: “Late nite snack.”

The mother-of-four has previously told Variety that while Davidson doesn’t feature in the first 20-episode season of the show, she “definitely explain[s]” their relationship.

“I have not filmed with him,” Kardashian began.

“And I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to get away. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season.”

Sources have also told Hollywood Life it’s likely the pair will make their Met Gala debut at the gilded glamour-themed gala in Manhattan on May 2.

“Kim has been invited to the Met Gala and wants nothing more than for Pete to go with her as her date,” an insider told the outlet.

Let’s hope we see the pair attend fashion’s biggest night together following their first Met meeting last year. It’s anyone’s guess what they’d couple’s coordinate in though? Matching Balenciaga lycra, perhaps?
